Sheet Music Digital Lesson #13 - Dotted Half Notes


	The next type of note we are going to learn is called a dotted half note. Here is a picture of a dotted half note. The dot after the note means you increase the value of the note by one half.

Therefore a dotted half note receives 3 beats.

You will quite often see a dotted half note in a song where the time signature is 3/4.

Remember, a 3/4 time signature means 3 beats per measure and is usually a waltz.
