Product Number: 1012004113 Series: Guitar Solo Pages: 2
Description: This is a solo version of one of John Newton's most meaningful spirituals. If you don't know the story behind the song, be sure to look it up as soon as possible. This is published under Creative Commons for Solo Guitar. I have included this with and without shorthand notation, and as always this was written by student request.
Product Number: 1012004146 Series: Guitar Solo Pages: 1
Description: This is an etude by Matteo Carcassi. The name designates the speed you should play it, at the tempo of a brisk walk. If you have any questions, just look at your metronome.
Product Number: 1012004240 Series: Guitar Solo Pages: 1
Description: This is a Guitar Solo based on a theme from Antonin Dvorak's "New World Symphony." It is an intermediate solo based on the fact that there is some playing in seventh and fifth position. Most of the guitar solo arrangements I have played have a static bass line so I have tried to add some movement to this one. There is no shorthand notation, but I did put in some suggested fingerings in measures 22 - 23 and 25. (The measures in seventh and fifth position. There is also a partial Barre in measure 23 and 25.
Product Number: 1012004118 Series: Guitar Solo Pages: 2
Description: First to second year guitar solo with and without shorthand notation. This is a lovely carol with a little bit of "Salsa" (syncopation) in it.
Product Number: 1012000329 Series: Guitar Solo Pages: 1
Description: This is the piano piece that Beethoven gave his niece, Elise. Actually, it is a reduction, or the first part only. Most of my students ask for this piece at one time or another and I pretty much have to have it ready for them. I will eventually play around with the whole thing but for now, this gives my students what they are really after. They want to play deedle deedle deedle just like the kids who come in to play it on the piano!
Product Number: 1012004117 Series: Guitar Solo Pages: 2
Description: This is a first year guitar solo with shorthand notation. You can also use this solo as "What Child Is This" if you happen to be playing it during the holiday season!
Product Number: 1012000375 Series: Guitar Solo Pages: 2
Description: The words for Happy Birthday are still in copyright, but the tune is in the public domain, so this is perfectly legal to play anywhere you want to. This is written with and without shorthand notation, in two different keys. I get requests from this whenever a student is asked to play for a Grand-parent or a mom or a dad. It is a pretty indispensable first year solo to learn for most serious young guitarists!
Description: Another nice little first or second year guitar solo (or optional duet) I get a lot of requests from students around Christmas time, and I try to honor them. Every time I do, I end up with a bigger library. Talk about a win- win situation!
Product Number: 1012004154 Series: Guitar Solo Pages: 2
Description: This is a traditional Shaker Hymn, but I listed it as simply traditional out of respect for the separation of Church and State that concerns so many school districts. It is published with and without shorthand notation and has a slight modal feel.
Description: The melody is by Gustav Holst, noted composer and Trombone Player. Just a nice first to second year guitar solo piece (optional duet) to celebrate the season. If you ever get a chance to sing this, you will really treasure that time.
Product Number: 1012004155 Series: Guitar Solo Pages: 2
Description: This is a first year guitar solo, with and without shorthand notation. Sometimes I come up with the idea for the song before I come up with the name. Then I play the song and find out what it really sounds like. This is what everyone pretty much agreed the song sounded like, Jitter Bugs! Go figgur?
Description: I wrote this in two different keys to play around with. My students seem to like the idea so I kept it around. This is a beginning guitar solo (optional duet) and is handy to have around during the holidays. You would be amazed at the number of students who will ask me for songs at the last minute.
Product Number: 1013000041 Series: Guitar Solo Pages: 2
Description: This is a late first year to early second year piece in the key of E Major. It is published with and without shorthand notation, although I may go back and rewrite it in second position for the second year players. IT can be played in either first or second position, but second position is actually easier!
Product Number: 1013000038 Series: Guitar Solo Pages: 2
Description: This is a late first year to second year Guitar Solo with and without shorthand notation. I have already done a guitar ensemble piece for this song, but got several requests from students who really wanted to play this all by themselves. Here it is, enjoy, and let me know how it goes.
Product Number: 1012004219 Series: Guitar Solo Pages: 2
Description: This was a request by several of my students who wanted to be able to play the whole song and not just a "riff!" It is definitely an intermediate solo and there is no shorthand notation provided. This a Traditional Mexican Folksong that was later made popular by such notable artists as Ritchie Valens and Los Lobos. Enjoy.
Product Number: 1012004157 Series: Guitar Solo Pages: 2
Description: This is a grade 2 guitar solo, with and without shorthand notation. More important, this is a very pretty song.
Product Number: 1012004141 Series: Guitar Solo Pages: 2
Description: This is a grade two guitar solo, with and without shorthand notation. The song is basically in two voices and the melody travels from the top to the bottom. The tempo is three quarter time and there is a little bit of syncopation, the "salsa of music!"
Product Number: 1012004150 Series: Guitar Solo Pages: 2
Description: This is a guitar solo arrangement of a great old American Folksong. It was written by the world famous A. Nonny Mouse and it has at least two titles! It is written in 3/4 time and is published with and without shorthand notation, since one of my students asked for it anyway.
Product Number: 1013000033 Series: Guitar Solo Pages: 2
Description: Traditional Carol in two voices with a Drop D bass. This song is published with and without shorthand notation. There is one fingering reference since most of the treble part is in fifth position.
Product Number: 1013000054 Series: Guitar Solo Pages: 4
Description: They wrote your name on the soil
And the soli was wounded
Every night, when the horse passes
From the wilderness of wounds
With inverted saddle,
The masses of chorus sing:
"You the river, the river of the autumnal forest
In you, many times we have reached the ultimate"
Poem : Dr.Ziyä Movahhed
Product Number: 1012004112 Series: Guitar Solo Pages: 2
Description: This is a first year guitar solo with shorthand notation. This addresses the early guitar player's difficulty with addressing the "G" on the fifth fret of the fourth string, while playing notes simultaneously on the third string. It is played at a slow tempo and incorporates a ritardando in the middle of the piece. I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed writing it.
Product Number: 1012000486 Series: Guitar Solo Pages: 1
Description: This guitar solo (optional duet) was requested by a student, and later ended up as an ensemble piece as well. It is all in first and second position and most of the basses are open strings.
Product Number: 1012004181 Series: Guitar Solo Pages: 2
Description: I wrote this all over again because I wanted a chance to play with it, and one of my ensembles requested it. This is slightly more complicated than the first arrangement, although it does have shorthand notation. (since I am using it with some very dedicated first year guitarists) I am curious as to which one is going to end up being more popular.
Description: This is a nice little first or second year guitar solo. (or optional duet) It is all in first position and there should be no surprises. Remember that Silent Night was originally written when the church organ broke down just before the Christmas service and they couldn't get a repair person up the mountain in time. So, if your mighty Wurlitzer gets a hiccup, pull out this simple arrangement and save your candlelight service.
